                                                     Early life

My name is Tial Hlun Sang and I was born on the 24th of February 1994 in Bungkhua Village. I lived with my family and I have three amazing brothers but no sister.  My father went to Malaysia in 2001 and I lived with my mother and my three brothers. Living without my father was not easy because we ate mainly vegetables foods that my mother grew at the farm. She went to the farm every day except Sunday. She went at 8:00am and came back home at 6:00pm. While she was working I had to cook and feed my three brothers. I worked hard every day because my family were very poor. We didn’t have oil to fry meats. Sometimes we didn’t have rice to eat and we ate corn and only vegetables. In 2007, my mother and my youngest brother went to Malaysia. They left us and we stayed at my grandmother house. From that time, my family lived in a different country. In 2008 my father, took me to Malaysia and I left my two brothers. When I came to Malaysia my journey was very difficult.  Normally, Myanmar to Malaysia takes about seven days with cars and boats.  When I came to Malaysia, my father sent the money through to my boss who is looking after us in all ways. Unluckily on the way, my boss took all the money and he ran to India. We had nothing there was no one to take care of us. I brought only a small bread and water bottle. I could do nothing, I just prayed to God and asked him to help us. Sometimes we walked through three nights and three days. We ate only coconuts. When I arrived in Karen which is near Thailand they gave us rice and some oil for free. I borrowed their phone and I rang my father and he sent me the money. Finally I arrived in Malaysia. My mother thought I was had dead because it took 45 days Myanmar to Malaysia.

 Schooling

I started school when I was 6 years old. I went to Bungkhua primary school through grade sixth. In 2006, I moved to Kalaymyo State High School without my family. Kaylaymyo and my village were about three days and three nights drive. I went to Kalaymyo Sate High School through grade 9. I am currently studying grade 12 at Groves Christian College.
 Achievements

Before I came to Australia my life was very difficult because when I was in Malaysia I couldn’t go to school. I worked three years at restaurant so that I could take my two brothers to Malaysia. I never thought that we would come to Australia but God love my family so much. God didn’t want my family always being poor. We came to Australia as a refugee because of God. I received an academic award at Woodridge State High School and I also won Spelling bee. Now I am serving God. I am youth secretary at my church and played keyboard. I am also a choir leader in my church. I am really thankful that God brought my family to Australia.
